What Med school before residency, would you reccomend if someone wants to get a surgery/ neurosurgery residency after med school?

I don't think it matters too much but you'll likely want to choose a medical school that has a neurosurgery program or at least a school that is in the region of the country you want to complete residency in.

Try to do MD/PhD at Hopkins or Columbia.

I presume that you should try GOOGLE and search for leading Neuro Institutes... There are loads. Depending on your location it could just get you going right away... There are at least a few 100 GOOD ONES in the UK and US . India though has some of the most reputed Neuro institutes. Personally i think you should opt for the EDINBURGH institute .. Search along
