Wow, this forum is packed...lots of lurkers - come on out guys! I don't think I've seen it this crowded since we actually took the exam! Anyway, as I mentioned earlier (in another thread), my day has gotten off to a lousy, lousy start. Minor fender bender, and anxiously waiting for those scores to get in... not to mention that my cat woke me up at 5 in the morning, meowing outside my window to let her in. So basically, I'm running on no sleep, a bent up car, and non-existent MCAT scores...anyone else have some stories to share? It'll make the time go by!!! Come on...:)

wow, we've got more viewers than the pre-allo forum! compulsive nerds unite!

my day does not suck as bad as yours, ms2209, (sorry, btw), but i did show up at school at 8:00AM for no reason (my class doesn't meet until NEXT monday). d'oh!

oh well, at least i wasn't the only one!

It is Monday, and for some reason Mondays and I do not get along. An eternal case of the Mondays if you will. Just gotta get through this day. Have a good (better) one folks!

I'm at work, bored... Checking the AAMC site periodically, hoping for a score, but knowing that the 15th is the day! Like someone else said...won't this be so anticlimactic? We've waited sooo long for a NuMbER!!!

That reminds me of the movie "Office Space". LOL! In fact, my morning resembled the beginning of that film, with bumper to bumper traffic, and no matter what lane you're in - no one's moving!!!

I've scheduled a ton of projects and meetings for today, to be sure I keep busy. Otherwise, it would be constant checking and my mouse finger would cramp up, perhaps permanently, ruining a possible surgical career...

Eek! It's like Christmas Eve... except evil....

LOL, I know, I can't believe how many people are on this forum! And to think, in a couple of days, the traffic will probably dwindle away...

Anyway, I've done the showing up for class when there's no class thing before! And the best is when you show up, sit down...and realize that it's not the right class!

same here... at work, trying not to space out (at least not when the boss is looking). i seriously didn't give the mcat much thought since i took it but now that it's practically here, i'm caught up in the pre-score excitement (or anxiousness). anticlimatic? perhaps, but all lil steps to the bigger picture.

HAHAHA! Great reference...waiting for MCAT scores DOES have that compulsive, permeating quality to it...except that "Santa" is located in Iowa and is making us all wait as long as possible

the SECOND someone posts that they got their scores, traffic here will be ZERO for like 15 minutes and then it'll be the busiest it's EVER been! that'll be fun.. sorta.

That's very true...I forgot about the sharing of the scores part! I hope mine are worth sharing :(...

Wow...I just realized that I have over 100 posts on SDN. It really creeps up on ya!

Now remember everyone, just don't rush to check your scores. Wait a couple days for other people to get them first so we don't clog up the servers.

Righhhhht... :D

So, anyone seen any good films lately? The last one I saw was the Day After Tomorrow, and it was terrible. They gave away all the "good special-effects parts" in the preview...and the rest was just predictable fluff (IMO).

ms- Hang in there.

I'm not sleeping well either. In the midst of MCAT score waiting, I'm looking to leave my job, but haven't found anything in terms of other employment...and I'm looking for somewhere that will let me take the missing prereqs that I need to fill...I spend a few moments everyday checking the THx to see if somehow the scores were posted early...

Best of luck to all!

dc

I'm going to be playing Ninja Gaiden ALL day and go to the movie theaters tonight. Time flys by when you're playing ninja gaiden :)

Tomorrow is a double whammy at my house... MCAT scores and 7th wedding anniversary. I'm not really prepared for either!

Anyway, if we can find a sitter we're going to go out for pizza (a big treat for me since I'm on Atkins) and Harry Potter. Has anyone seen it?

I chipped and pitched golf balls, as well as hit at the range for two hours this AM. I imagined the face of an MCAT writer on each little ball........man, my distance increased.

Aww, wow - congrats on your anniversary! I haven't seen Harry Potter, but I heard that it was good.

I ripped out about 1000 square feet of wood paneling and drywall in my house in preparation for remodeling. I may not be able to build stuff, but I can sure destroy it! :D

Maybe I should have waited until after I got my score to tear down!? If I got a bad score it would have been a good way to take out some aggression. Although, I think my reaction to a bad score may be more akin to lying in a fetal position and crying. :scared:

I've seen the creepy zombie version, but I was too busy studying for a test and doing homework on April 1 (I specifically remember this, because it was my birthday).

You gotta love Weebl. He makes my day.

LMFAO! That website's great...hahahaha!

Man...this forum is seriously packed, I don't think I've EVER seen it this crowded... :D You can cut the tension with a knife!

At this point, I don't even think that a party in a mansion next to the ocean, with lots of alcohol, models (and porn stars), gangsta rap music, weed, condoms, a hot jacuzzi, 70" plasma screen TV and excellent food could stop me from thinking about getting my scores....

well.. on second thought, maybe it would :)

LOL! It depends...would Brad Pitt be there?

You know, this is completely random (but hey, that's what this thread is for!), but I was just thinking that the MCAT scarred me for life. Seriously, the other day, I was driving along this street with my family and I saw this sign that said "Henderson St." and immediately, I thought - Henderson Hasselbach equation!!! When I told my mom this, she looked at me like I had lost my mind and got a good laugh out of it. Then, the other day, someone mentioned something about approaching ambulances and I thought of the Doppler Equation! Yes, I know - I have officially lost it (maybe I never had it  ) :D

My favorite lines are..

"ya know the nazi's had pieces of flare that they made the jews wear"

"You see, ever since I started working at Initech, everyday has been worse than the day before it. So that means that everyday that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life." :D

Yes those are great lines!!! LOLOL!!! Just thinking about that movie cracks me up! I also love the part where he drives up and the song "Damn it feels good to be a gangsta'" is playing...

ok i got something meaningless that has been weighing on my mind for quite some time. you know how the Amish are very conservative and simple. they done much like electricity or partying, they think showing ankle is dressing provocatively. but then you go to pennsylvania and i swear to god, one of the biggest Amish towns is called Intercourse, PA. no joke. i mean seriously, if youre that resolute about certain things, wouldnt you lobby to have the name changed or somehting? i dunno just seems a little fishy too me, there might be more to these Amish than meets the eye :)
Discuss amongst yourselves....

You probably just insulted every single Amish person that reads this board.

I'm really hoping scores are coming out tonight. Otherwise, I have to show up at work tomorrow at 6:30 AM at the hospital. I then go to my second job, where I will be working until 10 PM. What's worse, if I get a bad score, I'm essentially stuck at work for 16 hours until I can get out of there, only to have to show up for work the next day at 8.

...................

I'm also a big fan of the intro to Office Space where the nerdy dude is jamming in his car about being a tough mofo, a black dude walks by, and he turns down the radio and locks the car doors. Pretty funny stuff. :D

That movie is 100% true and 100% fantasy for anyone who has ever worked in the cubicle jungle. Ah! I hate those things with an irrational passion.

Seriously, the best thing about working a job like that is being able to put on your best flu voice, calling in sick, and going to the beach for the day. When I knew I was leaving my job, I'd just call up friends when my alarm went off, ask them if they wanted to call in sick, and we'd all just hang out in the sun and and get paid for doing it. One day we had 16 people who all called in sick across 3 counties.

I didn't feel all that bad about it, as these people used me. They basically had an office system set up where I had to work ovetime for free or face a major reprimand from a non-direct supervisor who actually had more power than my direct supervisor.

I just made sure they followed the law, one way or the other.

well that obviously wasnt my intention, i was just providing meaninless bantor. if i have offended any amish people on this board, my apologies, but i was just making simple conversation :)

lol oh man you know its bad when corny jokes like that are making me laugh my ass off

hey anyone know why the cookie went to the doctor????

Yes, but they get to ride in those fantastic little buggies with the reflector plates in the rear. Quite the Romantics, the Amish.

Their minds are on a far higher plane to worry about selecting the naughty meaning of the name of their town. They are living the days of apple butter and the reds of autumn, of rides through the countryside and amber waves of grain.

If only to be so free as to reject all electricity, to be freed from cell phones, and to plant your own rudebagas.

C'est tres Romantique, non?

[If an Amish person is reading this, get off that computer and BEHAVE!]
