I hope y'all are still reading SDN. No one is posting anymore.
Anyway, this is important stuff, so pay attention.
1) The daycare at LMU is closing. Apparently, they were "not profitable" and so they are closing on September 28th. This is a tragedy for anyone who has or plans to have children and continue their education. There are many non-traditional students who may not have the opporunity to attend college due to the fact that they can't find or afford child care. The school should offer child care and even help funding it so that it can assist people in pursuing an education. It shouldn't be an issue of "profit". I don't know who I should speak to about this issue, but I really think that this is a terrible decision to make.
2) SCARY STUFF.... I went to get my dog out the other day and he couldn't walk. He was acting like his leg was broken. So, we took him to the vet. The vet said he had a low grade temp, swelling in multiple joints, and leukopenia. They ran some blood work and diagnosed him with a tick-borne illness. They weren't sure whether it was Lyme, ehrlichiosis, or another one, but within two days of starting doxycycline, he was back to normal. The scariest part for me is that
he had to have contracted it in Tennessee because he had just been to the vet before we left New York and was fine. I can't get away from the ticks!!!!!!!!
I had put on cutter flea and tick stuff on him too. It was supposed to be good for a while, but I guess it wasn't. So, check yourself and your animals and wear bug spray.
OK, I am done "preaching" at y'all now. Back to the fun stuff. Where is everyone? I know, you must all be studying anatomy.
