There seems to be mixed information regarding LCSW salaries.

It is always said and I have always heard that social workers are so poorly paid and what not but the LCSW's at the hospital where I work are paid about the same as the nurses at about 60k per year.

This issue has been hashed out time and time again if you want to read up on it -- the 'search' function is your friend. Having said that, the fact that the LCSW with 4 years of UG and 2 year of GS with an additional 2-3 years of supervised practice before gaining full licensure through a national exam is being paid the same as an RN with 2-4 years in UG is not a positive thing IMO.

It depends on where you are, your area of expertise, what job position (administrator of a hospital? Private practice? Clinic therapist?) Here in NYC I've seen LCSW salaries range from $40,000 to over $200,000. It is so varied. It really depends on what you do with the degree and where you live.
