All 4 interview dates were full within 4 hours :(. Now only the waitlist is available. You really need a blackberry or an iphone (or a personal secretary) to survive this process! Or just :luck:

Sorry to hear about your frustrations. Did they offer more interviews than actual interview spots? No crackberry or iphone for me, but luckily no difficult, time-consuming rotation either. But....I think that I have developed a little obsessive-compulsiveness about checking my email and reading this thread. Cannot wait until January!! Good luck to all!!!

No worries alleyes: I don't hate the player, I just hate the game. :cool: Congrats on all of your interview offers.

When I talked with the residency coordinator at Mayo, she said that they do indeed send out more interview invites than interview spots. All is not lost, however, because she said that there are traditionally enough cancellations that most people will come off the waitlist and get an interview.

does anyone know if duke has finished offering interviews? someone has posted interview invites would be extended by nov 1, but is duke only interviewing on one day, 11/21?
 
I called up Duke last Friday and the coordinator said they haven't finished yet. Apparently they will still be calling people til the end of this week, I believe.

Good to know. Thanks for the information!! Anyone that got an interview so far, did you happen to ask about other interview dates? I thought they were also interviewing on Dec. 12th.

Called, left a message. Then emailed. No confirmation yet, but the email said the coordinator was available until 3:30PM, and it was after that. So, confirmations will most likely come tomorrow.
 
Re: BPEI--just emailed, since she's not available via telephone after 3:45pm.
Re: Duke--I asked about 12/12, and the coordinator said that they want to fill up 11/21 before opening up the Dec. date.
 
RE: Bascom Palmer - I called her right when I got the email and she confirmed the 12/10 date for me. She asked me to email her as well since she was about to leave. So there will most likely be confirmations tomorrow.

The best way to do it is BOTH to call and speak with someone (or leave a voicemail) AND also to send an email to the person who originally contacted you for the interview. This will expedite the process and enable them to offer the day up to someone on the wait list as soon as possible.

Just got a call from Duke they are still only offering 11/21, I asked about the alternate date and she said she would put me on the list in case that date opened up. Has anyone even been offered 12/12?

Update - I just heard back from Duke and was confirmed for 12/12.

Does anyone know if the University of Washington is still offering interview positions? I haven't heard anything from them yet.

University of washington still offering, got an email today with only one date available.

UCSD extended 36 offers, and only one person declined. the lady said its a slim to none chance for an offer at this point.

UCI, the lady says she does expect the waitlist to move, email/call her if you haven't heard before 11/19.

I was sent an email yesterday stating that I was invited for an interview on 12/12. This is after I was called last week for an interview on 11/21, which I couldn't make.
