Nope....But from looking at last years thread, they offered the first date, then opened the next date a week or two later. We will see....

I'm really curious at to how much this regional bias plays a role in admissions... thanks.

From the east coast....not an Ivy League school....did not do an away on west coast
Invites on West coast: UCLA, UC-Davis, Loma Linda, CPMC, Casey, Utah, Colorado
No love (rejected): Stanford, USC-Doheny
MIA....but probably not as 3/4 have already given offers: UCSF, UCSD, UCI, UWash

In my experience, about 50/50....I think that there is moderate regional bias, more so in California. Interested in others thoughts.

I'm from the East coast, not an ivy

So far: west coast 0/1 (stanford)-didn't apply to any UCal's b/c no away
rotations there.
Middle: 1/3 (negative colorado/wisconsin)
South: 1/2 (negative wake forest)

MIA: UWash, Duke, UNC, UMaryland, Bascom, every NYC program

I'm from the East Coast, but received a few West coast invites: UCLA, Stanford, UCSF, UCI. Rejected from USC; waiting to hear/rejected from Casey, UCSD, UC Davis and UWash.

I agree with alleyes in that there's a slight regional bias... but with a lot of luck thrown in :)
 
I grew up in the northeast, and now go to school in the midwest.
I have been invited to all the west coast programs I applied to (about 5)
I have been rejected from 2 east coast programs (MEEI, NYEEI), offered interviews at 2, and waiting to hear from 1 more.

not sure what that means - I guess it doesn;t matter where I grew up, only where I am now?

Got the WashU invite by email at 9AM, I called at 10:30AM to schedule and the 12/2 date was already filled. That's just crazy.
 
I wonder if they are one of the places that offers more interviews than spots to interview. wash u doesn't seem like one of those mean places though.

on the other hand, dec 5 is the date that a million programs are interviewing, so I bet that date is wide open!

So far, OphthoApp posted 11/21 by phone invitation, but nothing has been mentioned about their 12/12 date. Anyone have additional information or insight on when Duke plans to send more invites, unless they have already extended them all.....?

Just got the call from MUSC/Storm for an interview, even though I didn't apply there. I explained that to the coordinator who was confused but decided to offer one anyway.

This whole application process is crazy. I know I would be livid if I found out I didn't get to interview somewhere I was dying to go because someone else was offered an interview when they didn't even apply and until that moment had no intention of going there.

Obviously I accepted, since I didn't have anything scheduled for the 11th yet.


Just kidding.

I definitely feel your pain. Having years of gut-wrenching hard work reduced to a few pieces of paper to be judged anonymously by a system that appears largely random/unfair is an anxiety provoking situation to say the least.

Watching Alleyes and another applicants soak up dozens of interviews... where they likely don't even want to go while you wait as an "alternate" may make you question your chances of matching and even more harrowing...your self worth.

With that said... I have noticed my QOL inversely proportional to the amount of time I spend reading this thread.

Never thought I would say it but...IGNORANCE MAY BE BLISS :oops:

I also did not apply to MUSC/Storm but got the interview call this morning. That's my 2nd place not applying to but getting a mysterious interview (first was Wayne State/Kresge). This process is really very frustrating, and I don't know what is wrong with SF Match.
 
Does this mean our applications may not be at some places we actually applied to? It is possible that SF sent the wrong distribution list to multiple schools besides Kresge and Storm.
