FREIDA Residency Statistics (# Interviews)

Does anyone know how reliable the residency profile numbers on the FREIDA website are? Particularly, the programs that list the number of applicants and number of interviews given? I assume the data listed is from each individual residency program?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The feedback I have been given by residents at a couple of programs is that the applicant numbers quoted seem to be high. Keep in mind that this was for family practice. It behooves the programs to look more in demand.

The interview figures seem to be closer to reality. Overall, the numbers probably include FMG's and other independent applicants and validity of reported numbers probably varies from program to program

While I only have looked at Pathology programs...

The numbers of applicants and interviewies are usually both inflated...
Or at least rounded up...

But I think someplaces double count or something...
