3.Touro-NV
4. Touro-NY
5. Lecom-B
6. LMU-DCOM

3. DMU
4. LECOM-Erie
5. LMU-DCOM
6. Nova
7. Touro-NV

Since I got Fee Assistance I'll apply to MD school, but don't think I am competitive at all and wanna be a DO anyway.

Pretty much all the DO schools accept OOSers...except for the few state supported ones...MSU..OSU..OU I believe. Good Luck I hope you get in this year.

Hi everyone, as for me I should have done more research as to which schools give scholarships to URM. However, I already submitted my AMCAS so it's in stone... I think. Anyway, here's my list of 26 schools:

  • Brown University
  • Case Western Reserve University
  • Cleveland Clinic Medical School
  • Creighton University
  • Dartmouth College
  • Johns Hopkins University
  • Loma Linda University
  • Loyola University Chicago
  • Mayo Medical School
  • Medical College of Wisconsin
  • Oregon Health & Science University
  • Rosalind Franklin University
  • Stanford University
  • University of California, Davis*+
  • University of California, Irvine*
  • University of California, Los Angeles*
  • University of California, San Diego*
  • University of California, San Francisco*
  • University of Kansas
  • University of Minnesota, Twin Cities+
  • University of Rochester
  • University of Southern California
  • University of Washington
  • University of Wisconsin+
  • Virginia Commonwealth University
  • Wake Forest University
  • Washington University in St. Louis
*Denotes a state school
+Denotes school that works with Hmong communities

Because I have average stats, I decided to just apply to mid-tier and safety schools. Doesn't really matter where I go, just the financial aid package I receive -- basically.

I think...

From my experience ( I am not a URM, but some of my present classmates are) you should apply where you want to go, you might be competitive in other ways, stats are not everything. I know someone with a 24 in our class, and they come from a family of 6, and he practically raised himself. He got a scholarship and is in a good MD progra,. Dont sell yourself short! The med school process is not designed for URM's, in my opinion, so if you are a urm and you think you are not competitive, that does not mean you wont be a great md student/:)

You can see my list from my MdApps profile. I pretty much stayed primarily in Ohio since it's home but did want to check out the HBCUs and some PA and IL schools. I am really a city woman and I wanted to apply to my state schools.
