i've been shadowing a dr. in his private practice and i'd like to list this in my ERAS application under "Work Experiences". can i call it an observership or do people usually formally apply for observerships at a hospital?

if i shouldn't, then would you please suggest a better job title? thanks.

Just wondering, how long have you been doing it and how often?

is it really "work experience?" ...sounds more like a hobby.

carrigallen,

i've been doing it for several months, a few days a week depending on when the dr. is there and how much time i have.

does anyone have an answer?

I'm not sure, but maybe you could ask your preceptor/school for permission to call it an observership in ERAS. I don't think they would have a problem with that, as long as you could prove you were actually there doing the observing.

Again, though, I'm not really sure.
