didn't fail my New York State EMT exam, but the state failed me by misspelling my Asian name =(

okay so it misspells the first letter of my first name, and the letters are right next to each other on the keyboard. I don't think NYS employs any Asian people in its bureaucracy or it would have been recognized right away. I can't apply to EMS jobs with a misspelled name on my cert right? I submitted multiple requests during the course to have it fixed, even telling my examiners and my instructor. I am trying to gain as much experience as possible before the May 2019 cycle starts and it would be very frustrating if my cultural background is effectively delaying my employment by several weeks while they get it fixed.

Have you tried calling the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services central office, at (518)402-0996? That's at least a start.
