Hi guys --

Some background:
I'm a URM hispanic woman non-trad (29) living in Illinois.

uGPA = 3.6
sGPA = 3.9, but closer to 3.7 for actual BCPM (the M part of this killed me haha).
504 MCAT.

Looking to target several DO schools and some lower tier MD schools.

I have 4 years of non-relavant work experience (marketing / business development), have VERY weak clinical volunteering experience, a ton of non-clinical interesting volunteer experience, took a research course for a semester in undergrad, but nothing significant or published beyond that.

I plan on volunteering at a hospital starting in the next couple weeks and shadowing.

Chances??

Which Hispanic community?
Language skills?
Commitment to service?

Mexican - I am an intermediate speaker / reader / writer, but not fluent.

I show commitment to service and specifically to underserved communities in virtually all my volunteer experience. Although not clinically based.

For MD you could try these schools:
U Illinois
Loyola
Rosalind Franklin
Medical College Wisconsin
Oakland Beaumont
St. Louis
Creighton
Quinnipiac
New York Medical College
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
Georgetown
GW
You are competitive for most DO schools so apply to at least 6 and you should receive interviews.

Time to get to work on it.
