Unfortunately I caught the later OVERUSED quote of Shakespeare, from the play Hamlet, before my changes. When you understand the character that stated that in his play, well, hmmm, that makes it even more interesting for the commenter who used it.

I was not attempting to be witty in my previous posts. If that is what I was going for, that is what I would have done. I was presenting points. From now on, I will lead them into a separate thread/s.

Also, Shakespeare's works, as with many great communicators' works were not brief. Take Tolstoy for example. It's hard to structure sound reasoning on mere bits and bots...but again. Whatever. I hate using the ignore feature, but well, as I said, I don't tolerate bullying and such idiotic antics.

I can't explain funny to you, jlin. But it's not the points you're making that are so bad. It's the style. This is the street corner peanut gallery of medicine. If you have more in common with your church group or whatever, go there and dig, be dug, and be happy. But your feel is just off, here. Don't make it hard on yourself. This is awkward.

How many times in this thread did I return to the topic? Many. It went ignored. Gang-banging occurs, especially in this forum--as noted by another poster. I have witnessed it but ignored it pretty much. Is there a free pass to violate the TOS here in the allo, peanut gallery? Geez, this is not even pre-allo for God's sake.

Truly the gangbanging issue, it has been pointed out and noted repeatedly by others, in threads in which I have had almost no or completely no involvement.

Nas, Don't even go barking up the church tree either. That's just another way to try to bait someone or rationalize what is going on here. You can't, and you know it. Problems with prose, well, move past the prose. Anyone can do that. It apparently hit a nerve with some males--others just jumped on the tackle-pile. I already updated a nice list of people on my ignore list. It's a shame, b/c established docs will probably have good insights on other topics; but so long as disrespect is allowed and TOS are ignored, other than laying on the "report post" button, it's the best way to handle such lunacy. Insults right and left. People just insulting for the hell of it or b/c they are offended that someone differs with them on something. Yup. This is a bully forum, and it sad to see established leaders playing along with inaccurate and stupid insults.

I am kind of busy, so I haven't hit the button yet; but I am thinking that some mods at least see the problem with all the bullying and tackling on top of people in this forum. Yes. Intelligent. Everyone must agree or they will be piled up on! This is not a football game for God's sake. It's a place of reasonable discussion.

God forgive me for even hitting the "new threads" whenever I ran across this thread topic. Lesson learned. Advice well taken. Avoid allo. Noted.

I've had to go to the nicu to poke around at small people born with teef, I hate all things icu related, all of it just smells like death. One time I mistakenly ended up in the micu and then spent an hour or so crying in a stairwell.

Listen, there is NO listening to reason here. And to say anymore doesn't allow these that are involved in such stupidity to save face. You hit the nail on the head. And b/c I have seen the antics that some play either directly or passive-aggressively "fancyfeast," for example, well now there are two more on ignore. Not my cup of tea--playing such games. I have seen this toxicity on boards and forums before. Some people get sick satisfaction in this kind of online game. Finally able to take care of dinner, which is something I am badass at, if I say so myself, lol, and I'm not fond of burnt food, so.... This is NOT a healthy environment for aspiring med students--especially when I have to hear crap from those w/o even half the clinical experience I have.

Just stay away, b/c it's a no win situation, and apparently the "gamers" here know it and are cool with it. (Also, I am thinking this is some sort of pick-up forum/thread. LOL Yikes.) If you report it, it may help, but it's an on-gong issue on this forum, so. . .Sad. Also, I will add that whenever I visit another thread of interest, I will not see the comments of these folks! Yea! On one hand it's a shame. On another hand it's good. Here's why: Everyone that has commented to bully up has not offered anything worthy of discussion or staying substantially with the topic or anything uplifting to others. Neither have they given any intellectually valid arguments for whatever "positions" from which they have gotten their boy and girl panties knotted. Just being nasty is all. This is "professionalism?" Nah.

As an aside, I was talking with a female surgeon and fellow at work the other day, they were talking about shoes and I commented on how my wife likes Jimmy Choo shoes and she seems to have a lot of them as I had to move some of her stuff around in her closet to access the attic stairs to change the filter on my upper HVAC system.
They were asking me all about them, boots, etc. many wows, etc. I had no idea they were expensive. Of course, how would I know. Is this some super secret stealth brand of lux lady gear?
It does explain why I have a million frequent flyer miles on my credit card though.

I agree that sdn has created a new phenomenon with the like button. That provokes in- and out-grouping. And a bullying towards the most popular point of view.

However if standing for what you believe in means being always on activist at the expense of funny, loose conversation. Or just being mean to people. Then you're point is lost.

If your revolution against sdn culture isn't fun. Or at least doesn't needlessly blur the line between accurate cultural criticism and attacking the harmless activity of jerking in circle while not believing in a god. Or selects a passion for shoes as its target of protest.

Then just like jlin you squander the thrust of your point of view with negative style points.
