I am interested in the Navy and Air Force HPSP and would like to know who I could ask to write my letters of recommendation. Do they have to be professors whom I've taken classes with back in undergrad? I graduated in 2008 and will be starting my first year in 2009.

They can be from anyone. Realize though as the board reads the letters - the person that writes them will also be looked at. If Aunt Martha or your next door neigbor writes a letter it will not be viewed the same was as a previous professor, dentist you've shadowed, or previous employer that you have worked with for several years.

I submitted the same exact ones people wrote for my dental school application. It worked for me and I got the scholarship, so I don't think you need to get any new ones.
