PlumbLine, awesome job with Pritzker!
Thanks, Amygdarya! Feeling so blessed. I was shaking on the call. Very excited for the success of all the non-trads this year!PlumbLine, awesome job with Pritzker!
Thank you so much!!!! I feel your pain, and I hope you hear some great news soon!! I'm sure there will be a surge of decisions being made/ letters going out before the holidays hit. Best of luck to you!!!Seifu2011-Congratulations! I interviewed at Drexel 11/7, and am *impatiently* awaiting a decision from them!!
Thank you!You're doing awesomely PlumbLine!
You must be a good person to get into such service focused schools!Accepted:

Chicago Loyola Stritch
Oakland Beaumont

Lol i noticed because I got rejected from Oakland and silent rejected from Loyola. Also Tulane. I asked Oakland what was up and they said I wasn't a good enough person, or at least not servicey enough. I suppose the other schools had similar thoughts!Interesting you noticed my intent, though I can't say I qualify as a 'good person'. Having worked with a neglected population (US inmates) I really wanted to find a program that emphasized serving their community. Next month I'll hear from Boston University, I really liked them as well after finding about how they served the local under-served community of Roxbury etc.
After all, medicine is a service based career.

Yeah that was why I asked for feedback. I got rejected by what i thought was a safety school before I got any interview invitations, so I thought something was terribly wrong with my app. Turns out it was just that some schools didn't like my "mere" 400h of nonclinical volunteering spread out over 8 years as my only community service.Whoa that's pretty interesting, but at least they told you how to improve upon your application if ever needed (hopefully not!). I actually thought I was going to be rejected from Loyola because my first interview was pretty tough, and I felt like crap leaving Chicago after a three interview back to back OOS trail (saved money but terrible on your psyche).
Applying to medical school is the most mysterious thing I've ever done given the approval process and apps.

Definitely not complaining though- i got in at other places so I'm good. It just helps to do a post-mortem sometimes to make sure you're still somewhat self-aware.

I work with inmates also. I find it a very interesting group to work with. It's a lot like rural medicine, I think, because we are responsible for so much of their care, more than a typical primary care office would be. Congratulations! I'm sure you'll do great in med school.

Making a choice may be easier once you get some scholarshipsI am so fortunate, but also overwhelmed at how I will choose by May.
Very true!Making a choice may be easier once you get some scholarships

(looking at surely's post) You're exactly right Congrats surely!I'm sure there will be more action now that ADCOMs are coming back in from the holidays and non-rolling schools are beginning to release decisions.
