LSU/Ochsner wait list. Do other programs send out wait list notices?

I received a rejection from LSU Oshner yesterday via emaili wonder if they rejected anybody or just waitlisted em all.
For MUSC, has anyone heard if they interview you on two days, both 12/5-12/6. I only got an invite to interview on 12/5, but someone told me that they interview all their candidates on both the 5th and 6th. I am not sure if this person is right or told me something incorrect. So if anyone going to interview at MUSC, let me know if you are interviewing just one day, or for 2 days.
Thanks!!
Granted this process if FAR from over, and I'm probably just prematurely freaking out, but I'm wondering if anyone else is applying for a backup specialty or contemplating doing so? My stats are average for ppl that have recently matched into ophtho, but I'm stuck at 5 invites and i'm getting a tad bit worried. I still have dozens of schools I'm waiting to hear from, so I remain hopeful.
Although I'm very passionate about ophtho, I would rather match into my 2nd choice specialty than not match at all. Even though the thought of another residency application absolutely horrifies me, i'm seriously thinking about getting that ball rolling.
What do you guys/gals thing? Input from current applicants in a similar boat, or prior applicants who contemplated the same, would be great!!
If it makes you feel better at this point I only have one interview, I have sent emails to other schools with a CV update (One of my non-ophtho papers was accepted for publishing) I applied to like 70 programs and so far I have about 15-18 rejections. I am doing internal medicine as my backup, so as of now I will give my best at the IM interviews.

Hey--I guess never hurts to have a backup, but just FYI, the average applicant last year received 4.7 interview invites, so you're actually slightly above average. You are statistically poised to match, not to mention the fact that there is still time to get more invites.
It's actually 4.7 offers. I'm not sure what "offers" means. I think it refers to how many programs actually rank you. The question is do programs rank all the people they interview? I would assume they rank like 90+%, so then the average number of interviews is probably ~5. But if they only rank half of their interviewees, then the average number of interviews might be ~9. I don't really know, but I would just assume they probably rank just about everyone they interview. They probably only don't rank the super weird ppl they meet.
Anyone else know?

Thanks for ur reply!
I hear you. It's definitely prudent to have a "plan B", I'm also thinking about IM as backup, kinda late I know, but better late than never.
BTW, did you check program websites/SFMatch excel sheet to see if they frown on being sent additional materials? I'm planning to send CV updates to a few dozen programs but I definitely don't wanna annoy anyone.
Let's keep our fingers crossed! I hope we both get some more invites!!
I wish there was a way to find out how many candidates each program is interviewing. This information would help us evaluate our chances at each place.
One of the programs sent out invites to 50+ candidates for 3 positions. I think the coordinator sent the email by mistake to everyone in one single email. That's how I found out that there were so many interviewees at this place. This also makes me nervous about how many interviews each of us needs to have in order to secure a match.
It would be nice if last year's candidates and current residents would chime in regarding the number of candidates being interviewed at their programs.
