Just curious. How are you all planning out your interviews, since many schools overlap in dates?

They sent their invites via snail mail, so check your mailboxes instead of the inboxes. Good luck, and see you on the interview trail.

Are there people who haven't gotten any invites yet? I'm starting to get nervous....

Same here. Dont worry yet...it depends on where you applied. Look at the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 interview threads to get an idea of when schools you applied to send out invites. None of my schools have sent out invites yet (I applied mostly on the east coast, no west coast, few southern schools).

Still have my fingers crossed! We'll be fine. GL!

I've only gotten one. Getting nervous as well. If these interviews have been sent out, does that mean that there is a low likelihood of getting an interview at these particular places? Or do they send out like half and then more later on? I'm sure every place is different but was wondering if anyone knew for sure regarding certain places.

I wouldn't get too worried. Only 15 programs have sent out invites, plenty more to go around. Plus, seems like everything is happening a bit later this year than it did last year. I think in general programs vary on giving out 1 vs. multiple waves of invites. You can check the previous years' threads to get an idea of each program's pattern

Echo what the concerns previously expressed... I too have only received one interview offer so far....

*fingers crossed*

I totally echo what Melenema said...its early and there is plenty to go around! That being said, if you never received the batch merge email/school confirmation/or at least 1 interview, I don't think its crazy to call a program (maybe not your top) just to confirm that all the application components are in and available.

Its what I would do...

If it makes you feel better I haven't received any interview invites and I already received my first rejection. I think a lot of programs are waiting for the deans letter. I'm praying I hear from programs soon.

this.

let's just hang tight, I get nervous every now and then, but it's very early! Interviews are just trickling in, the flood gates haven't opened yet.

I hope everyone gets tons of invites and matches high on their list!!!:thumbup:

what program has sent out a rejection so far, if you dont mind me asking?

also, to those with no interview invites, did you guys specifically apply to the programs that have already sent out invites?

Also, for those of you interested in KUMC, not sure if this helps but I was one of 15 people in the second round. So, depending on how many first rounders there were and how many spots they have overall, hard to tell if this is 2 of 3 or 2 of 2 as far as big batches from them. BUT, two of the three dates have some major overlap, so there will probably be some shuffling soon, don't give up hope!

baylor sent out rejections. womp womp.

also, wouldn't worry too much about no interviews yet.. a lot of programs have deadlines as far back as october 1 or later, and i was told a lot of places send in early october... i feel like if you are on top of things enough to be checking this board, you probably got em in early. so that's a good start...i'm telling myself.

one more word of encouragement: 89% match rate last year for US seniors.. if you're international well....that's a very different story.

79%. That 89% is of all ppl who matched

Except if I'm reading things totally backwards it seems to me that the OP is correct.

The 89% is the pct of US seniors who matched: 402/455=89% [US seniors/total matched].
78% is the total match rate: 455/583=78% (total matched/total # of rank lists)

This makes sense since US seniors, on aggregate, have higher odds of matching when compared to internationals and US grads (in aggregate, of course)

US seniors make up 89% of all those who matched. That is NOT the same as saying the match rate for US seniors is 89%.

also from the data on the sf match website, its actually not possible to tell what is exact the match rate for US seniors because in order to do that you would need to know of those who did not match, what number is composed of US seniors...

also note that for last year's cycle, there were a total of 683 CAS submissions, but only 583 rank lists submitted. tough to tell whether that means 100 people who submitted CAS did not get any interviews or simply did not submit a rank list bc they did not want to end up at the few programs they ended up getting interviews at and/or chose a different specialty they were simultaneously applying to
