For the past few years, as a group, we have been posting interview offers with with available interview dates to help each other gauge where his/her applications stand during the ERAS season. When you hear from a program, please make a short post here:

Institution
Interview dates offered

To make things really easy, make sure to copy previous offered interviews to your post, to make a running list.

It's fun, it's encouraging, and it can be helpful to all. Look forward to seeing you guys Match this year. :)

Anybody care to post prelim interview offers? Or should that go under a different thread?

Thank you for making this! I have been looking at last year's interview invite thread to find out information for this year- so I am happy that you made this! Can't wait until we start getting invites!

We had previously tried using a anonymous account for people to post. However, it was abused and so we won't be trying this again. I'd volunteer to post PMs anonymously if I wasn't so swamped. If anyone here wants to take the charge on this please post here in this thread.

Please post what you can when you can, regarding what makes you stay comfortable. Others like you will probably appreciate the exchange in information. I know I did. :)

A link to last year's interview thread might be helpful. Thanks!

As LD said last year, you may not hear much until Nov. 1st. I imagine it may be about the same way this year. So, hang tight. :)

On an amusing note... A few of us on here received rejection letters after Matching two years back. Pretty amusing. :)

Thanks for the reminder N-Surge  It's been kind of a bummer hearing everyone else in the class getting 15-20 interviews while my inbox is running on empty :(

glad to hear I'm not alone. Being familiar with typical SDN posts, I thought I was going to check this forum and see that everyone else is already choked out with interviews.

I almost forgot, I did hear back from one derm program already: UT Southwestern in Austin. They said that they had limited interview dates and wanted to know in 140 characters (yes, characters, not words) or less why I'm interested in their program. That's just a little longer than a text message on my cell phone. Needless to say, I'm not optimistic about my odds of interviewing there.

Sounds like they want a TWEET! :)

= 387 characters (with spaces)

they liked you enough to send you the email ;)

I got this email as well...I though the 140 characters had to be a typo. Oh well...LOL. I also received the umass 100 word more information too.

Has anybody heard from the early interviews...from last year's thread it seems like there were a couple interviews given out around this time.

i got both emails too. honestly i couldn't really decide what to put in less than 140 characters so i just resorted to making it longer. i think it ended up being 3 short sentences, yet still over the 140-character request. hopefully they don't mark it against me for not following directions...

to answer your question 311, i am still an empty nest for derm interviews.... but i was wondering the same thing.

determinator, did anyone NOT get the email? i assumed it was sent to all applicants... please correct me if i'm wrong.

You should write back in tweet: " I would luv 2 liv n Austin. Derm iz dope, yo" (BTW, I'm not an applicant this time around, just joking ok?)

I got a similar message from UMass Derm asking me to describe in 100 words or less why I was interested

It seems like this is becoming the fashionable thing to do this year. When programs get 600 applications - 80% of them in the top 10% of their class, 250 of them in AOA, and 50 of them ranked No. 1 overall in their class - they have to have a better way to thin down the herd. I can see this helping 2 groups of people: 1) less-than-stellar candidates who have an additional forum to state their case, 2) Candidates applying outside their geographic area to off-the-beaten-path residency programs.

My advice, if you get several of these, take some time and put together a solid, eloquent template about what you think every program would like to hear and tailor it appropriately for each programs strengths/interests.

Personally, I would think about it like a "thank you note" you send before you go to interview because the same ingratiating skills are required.

that's really early. I remember being kind of bummed out last year because I didn't hear anything until the week before thanksgiving.

Got email (10/19) for interview at SUNY Buffalo 12/7 12/14 1/11. First response from a program thus far :)

I also got a phone call yesterday from a resident. But, from Drexel. Also on 11/11/10. Maybe my ears are bad and I mistook one Philly program for another. I'm waiting for their f/u e-mail.

lawl, no you're correct and I am wrong. I couldn't make out what the resident was saying on the voicemail even after replaying it 3 times. Now that you mention Drexel it does sound more like "Drexel" than "Jefferson". Good thing a confirmation email is supposed to come...

That's the same way Drexel sent interviews last year. They do at least three waves of interview offers, so don't freak out. They have a resident call you and tell you the specific day that you interview. A friend of mine was invited to the first day and I had the last interview day. Our offers were at least a few weeks apart.

If people are comfortable posting waitlists/rejections also, this should help the rest of us know somewhat where we stand at different programs

Also last year the first interview date (the November one) was only for Philly area applicants and rotators so don't despair if you don't have one of those connections and didn't get the invite.
