Honestly, that video sucks!!!
Where is the footage of people opening up their evelopes and crying for Joy (or not) ? That's what makes match day. Without it, the video could have been of any other ceremony...

I have some videos too. One is where people stand in line for 20 minutes waiting to get on a rollercoaster. In the other video, people stand in line waiting to get into the superbowl.

Thanks for posting those. Interesting to watch how other places do it. My favorite part, though, was the professor who told the story about how Match Day was "in the old days": you just went to the Dean's Office and picked up your envelope. I have to say that I'd much prefer that kind of a low key, more private arrangement to having to sit through an hour's worth of speeches and the media circus of opening my envelope in front of a huge crowd.

But maybe I'm just shy.

Sorry for the stupid question, but can't you just find out where you matched online? How do DO's find out where they matched since their schools don't have ceremonies?

You check online through NRMP. You get at 1 pm Eastern time. Allopathic schools having ceremonies get there envelopes before the 1 pm online time.
