Hi all,

Just wondering what it was like? I mean seeing it is one thing, but using a saw to cut up the pieces is another, do you get over it? I am whatever about it, as long as I keep it in my mind that it is for education and it is a "subject" that we are working with...it seems ok. Ive seen videos on youtube and it pretty crazy.

You'll know when you do it.

Don't get psyched up or you may drive yourself vasovagal.

It is an integral part of learning anatomy. It becomes important to visit the cadaver lab in 4th year or as an Intern to regain the 3D anatomy. This very much depends on the field you choose. As an interventional pain physician, I strive to get as much time in the lab as possible for the fellows in training, as well as when I was getting started.

They are dead, you won't hurt them. But what you gain in saving another life or sparing complications from procedures is invaluable. You may come to cherish what little time you have with the cadaver.
