I am planning to take the written portion of the NERB soon
and I have no idea what to study. If anyone has any suggestions
on study material I would greatly apperciate it.

The exam is similar in scope to NBDE part II. It also may feel like you are not doing well during the exam but most people pass it without too much trouble. You just need to know the basics about being a competent dentist (eg. know when all teeth come into the mouth, when to give SBE prophylaxis, how to properly dose a child's local anesthetic maximum, etc) These are examples of the depth of understanding I remember feeling expected to know; not necessarily the topics. In other words, don't memorize mundane facts that won't help you in practice; rather, embrace the knowledge that you know is relevant to competent practice of dentistry.
