Let’s say you were going to India after your first year being a premed and were “medically” volunteering for 2 months in Mumbai and Delhi. However, then you have to visit your aunts and uncles and all other relatives…probably out of a formality only for two days…would you spend a week or so shadowing a local doctor even though you only completed your 1st year as an undergraduate but have a EMT certification (experience is my main regards)? Did anybody actually shadow a local doctor or do an internship in India when visiting by arranging everything yourself…i.e. not organizationally involved?
