Medical Would a D1 scholarship be considered employment if I had to pay taxes on it?

Hello all,
For one of the MD programs I am applying to it asks I was employed during undergrad. Although I was not employed, I did D1 athletics in which I had an athletic scholarship I payed taxes for. Just wanted to see if anyone had input into how to answer this question. For now I'm leaning toward answering no and expanding.

I would answer no. No need to expand. An athletic scholarship is not employment even if you paid taxes on it.
