When drawing blocks on a lateral whole pelvis field for cervix or endometrial cancer, what are you trying to block? Are you trying to block the spinal canal? Also, is this information listed anywhere? I checked some of the textbooks which mention general field borders but don't go much into specifics. Actually, same for other fields and blocks. Is there one good resource for this?

Every major text still has plenty of field diagrams... to answer your question, no, do not try to block spinal canal at L5-S1. That may underdose common iliac nodes.

Go to RTOG website. Go to protocol table. Go to 1203. Go to 6.1.5.2. Also, note hyperlink to contouring atlas for GYN cancer directly beneath picture of 3D fields. All troubles solved.

Use the RTOG website as a resource for similar questions.
