Who has the best pharmacotherapy reference?

I prefer using UptoDate but a lot of times when I message providers about incorrect dosing or anything else, they say they are using another reference like IDSA or Sanford or the John Hopkins Manual or Epocrates.

Members don't see this ad.
 
You can't go wrong pulling straight from the guidelines. I kinda view Uptodate as the Wikipedia of medicine.

I think UpToDate can vary in terms of the level of evidence each article is based on - sometimes only expert opinion vs closely based on guidelines with new updates from the literature compared to when the last guideline was published. I tend to check a couple resources (I do like John Hopkins antibiotic guide and Sanford although some of the ID docs I work with don’t strictly follow Sanford’s susceptibility chart) if I have time, otherwise would tend to favor the guidelines if they are recent.
