Hey all. So I got verified on August 2nd and 3rd. I've turned in about half of them (got like 25) and I'm hoping to be complete by the 10th. When do you guys project I'll receive interview invites?

cGPA is 3.9+, sGPA is 3.9+, and MCAT is 520 (everything else on my app is pretty strong or so I've been told)

It could take a number of weeks (or months) to receive interview invites once your application is considered complete.

With those stats you will get quite a lot. I'd put money on getting several through August and September. But you never know, you could still be getting them all the way into April. Don't worry, you're golden.

Your app sounds great, but no one can really say when you'll get a II. Hang in there!

It’s a long process. Even if you are accepted in October when acceptances are first released, you may interview at and be accepted to more schools. For example, I interviewed at the school I am attending in December and accepted in January. The schools I was accepted to earlier, I turned down. Best of luck!

Stats are great.... just like one of the reapplicants I am working with this year......
Can you tell us a little more about this applicant? What was lacking in this applicant the first cycle?

Story is always the same:

1 or more of the following:
1. Applied late
2. Poor interview/social skills
3. Missing critical component of app (clinical experience usually)
4. IA /criminal record
5. Negative (read: not just bland and benign but actively negative) letter of rec.
6. Shallow, narrow, and top-heavy school list.

How late is late? I got verified the beginning of August and am in the process of turning around secondaries by the 14th.

I have ~250 hours non-clinical volunteering, 1000+ hours of research with 1 pub, students jobs 20 hours a week, 150 hours of clinical volunteering, and 60 hours of outpatient shadowing (niche nephrology). Does this raise any flags?

Also, is my school list decent:

that is a hella long list. I have no idea how people apply to this many schools, I even feel my list was too long in hindsight. Good luck on secondaries, honestly.

Complete before Labor Day = On Time is the wisdom provided by the adcoms on this forum. Any point after that is "late" but how much it hurts depends on a lot of factors. For example, how late are we talking? Complete in September means that you've probably only missed the first and maybe second wave of IIs at most schools that always go to the most competitive candidates anyways. Complete in October means that your complete app is being fully evaluated for the first time at a point in the cycle where more than 60-70% of all IIs for that cycle have already gone out. That said, if you have a fantastic application, then being late will not affect your app so much. I know plenty of people with otherwise exceptional apps who submitted in August and ended up accepted, but that is because other than being late they were still exceptional applicants. If you have a LM > 70, then it looks like you have a well rounded app that wont be helped or hurt by your proposed timeline.

Patience is a virtue, the need for instant gratification is not.

Schools stratify the apps as they come in and don't send out IIs merely in chronological order.
