My biggest challenge was putting all the pieces together. I also had to get used to being "on" all the time with patients. You can have a bad day, but you can't show it on your face I got through it by having a "work wife." She and I were both new grads, so we could ask each other questions and vent when we felt frustrated. Honestly, I'm still not a treat 8-5 M-F type. I realized that a few years out of PT school, so I started doing PRN work so I could control my hours more. It's a much better fit for me. Please PM me if you ever have questions about the transition period You can also visit this website: http://newgradphysicaltherapy.com It's designed specifically for those of you who are finishing up PT school and transitioning into life as a full-time treating physical therapist.
