As an MD/MBA candidate at a US Allopathic (MD) school, I was wondering what I should do during my summer between 1st and 2nd year of med school.
I'm interested in going into emergency medicine and one day into clinical operations (COO), so as of now I was thinking of doing research as my primary activity. The field that I am researching in, however, is still up for debate.
Since emergency medicine is not an ultra-competitive specialty, doing research in that field is not necessary, but could help me when residency applications start. Other than that I could do research in clinical operations, or go international for the hell of it.
Thoughts? Or other activities I might not have considered?
