First post, so please excuse the mistakes.

I am a TX resident applying to basically all the med schools in TX anyway, but I want to build a school list for med schools outside of Texas. WAMC and pls help me build a school list. I want to apply to preferably 10-15 schools out of Texas.

  • MCAT - 515
  • GPA - 4.00
  • Texas Resident
  • Undergrad - Public Texas University
  • South Asian
  • Clinical Experience (500ish)
  • Non clinical - 350 hours
  • Research - 1000 hours

ER scribing is definitely clinical experience. If you do not have shadowing or very little, you can subtract 50 hours from that activity and list it under a shadowing slot on AMCAS.

OOS schools know that TX residents stay in-state due to the low tuition. You have high stats, so some schools may feel they can offer either their reputation and/or financial aid to compete.

I suggest:
Kaiser
NYU
Mayo
WUSTL
Duke
Emory
Miami
Vanderbilt
University of Chicago
Northwestern
Michigan
