Looking for some guidance from a discouraged recent-grad :’) tysm

Looking to apply the next cycle. Graduated from an Ivy League institution (Princeton) as a D1 athlete (track and field) with the following numbers:

MCAT: 501 —> 518

Freshman: c2.3, s2.0
Sophomore: c2.9, s2.5
Junior: c3.3, s3.0 (straight A’s both sem.)
Senior: c3.4, s3.1 (straight A’s both sem.)

I’m planning on doing a DIY postbacc at HES this coming year, which would (assuming I have straight As in all 4 classes, which I know is entirely possible) boost both sGPA and cGPA to 3.6 exactly.

The bulk of my prerequisites were between my sophomore and junior year. As well as I did in my last two years of college and MCAT, my GPA is Wrekt™ by my freshman and sophomore years, where I experienced major depression and also fractured my knee.

From Massachusetts, ORM (white).

Clinical experience: 1000+ hours, scribing (400) and home-health aide (600) for people with disabilities.

Research: 200+ hours (~1 year), began as a volunteer and then assigned as Clinical Research Coordinator shortly after. Will have a publication as second author by the end of this year and (potentially) another by fall next year.

Non-clinical volunteering: 100+ hours working with underprivileged youth in inner city, 2 different positions. (Jeez, this section could really use improvement). Volunteered 30 hours at nursing home kitchen amidst staff shortage during COVID.

EC: 3-time T&F record breaker at my institution. Coaching at local rec club throughout undergrad. Planning on tutoring this fall as well (this also needs more :().

Shadowing: 30 hours ped surgery, 20 hours neurology. Scribed in a pulmonary clinic.

In the process of receiving committee letter from Princeton next cycle.

Here’s my very (VERY) rough list so far… I could really use some help here regarding where I could be a competitive applicant.

UMass Chan
Quinnipiac
Tufts
BU
Wake Forest
Tulane
Vermont
Miami
Georgetown
UVA

….clearly I need some guidance, but please be as realistic as possible with me. My biggest question is: am I even in good shape to apply MD? Tufts is my dream school, but I know it’s so low yield. How can I improve my app? Anything at all is helpful. Thank you so much in advanced :)

Assuming your final GPA is above 3.5 you are competitive for many MD schools. You could add these schools to your list:
Dartmouth
Hofstra
Einstein
New York Medical College
Mount Sinai
Albany
Rochester
Hackensack
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
Pittsburgh
George Washington
Eastern Virginia
NOVA MD
TCU-UNT
Creighton
Loyola
Medical College Wisconsin
Western Michigan
Oakland Beaumont
You will need to apply broadly to at least 25 schools to maximize your chances for interviews.

Thanks so much, that's really helpful. Currently crippling under imposter syndrome but this really gives me some hope! :)
