Hello everyone! I’m looking for some guidance/advice in regards to my school list/chances. I understand that my GPA is the weakest part in my application, so I’ve attempted to make my list according to that. The majority of these schools are OOS friendly/reinvention rewarding low-mid tier MD schools and DO schools. Also, I know this list is long; however, I am amenable to shortening it/pre-writing secondaries early (January- March). I’m looking to apply this summer and matriculate for the Fall of 2023. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

Have you applied before? If so how did that cycle turn out?
Did you enroll in a real,SMP or a post bacc?
Does your school have a Committee letter? Are you using it?
Are you aware some schools average multiple MCAT scores? AMCAS rec that schools do this. And even if they don’t, every reviewer will see that you are a 3x test taker with a 497. All scores are visible.
You have some schools on your list that received 10k + application. With your stats I doubt you’d even clear the auto screen at those schools. Unless you don’t care about tuition, skip UofIllinois. They have obscenely high tuition for out of state students. Might be highest in the country.

1st time applicant, never applied before

real SMP, not a DIY post bacc

No committee letter available, hence why I have individual letters

From what I understand MOST schools do not average. Secondly, I can't change what has happened. These are my current stats.

Noted, thanks for the advice

Consider DMU for DO as I believe they also specifically look at the last 60 credits. OUH COM has a requirement if I recall to practice in Ohio so be aware of that. It is probably close by (compared to most other schools) so that might not be a problem for you.

UVA over NYMC might be a decent swap to make. It is still a public state school over a low yield one even if you don’t think you’re competitive there.

Wasn't aware about OUH COM, might have to scratch that off my list. Thank you for the input!
