WAMC: 3.53 cGPA, 3.42 sGPA, 513 MCAT (MD & DO)

Hello,

I'm a recent graduate, applying to both MD and DO schools both in state and out of state.

Asian, Male
State of Residence: Florida
cPGA: 3.534 (last 2 years have upward trend)
sGPA: 3.42
MCAT: 513 (130, 125, 129, 129)

College: University of Virginia, Major in Biology, Minor in Religious Studies
~300 hours hospital volunteering
600 hours research (2 different positions)
+1000 hours in non-clinical leadership position

During my gap year, I plan on scribing, shadowing, and tutoring.

I have a tentative list of schools, but I'm in need of some suggestions! Thanks a lot.

Your MCAT is great, but the GPA is a bit low for MD. You will want to apply to all your state MD schools and research a couple others that accept lower GPA's. For DO schools, you can basically apply to all of them and have a decent shot. Find the ones that interest you and apply. As long as you put in good work on your application, you should be fine.

@Faha is good at advising on MD schools, so is @Goro I think you have a better chance at MD than you might think. Not great of course, but better than you think.

For DO you only need like 8-10 and should only apply to the oldest and most established ones. I suggest

I would also apply to the state schools because you have a shot as an OOSer: OSU, MSU, OU, and TCOM
