VR = 7 or 8, acceptance??

Yes, tons of people get in. My friend got into Yale, UCSF, Michigan, OHSU, and others with an 8 verbal two years ago.

And is your friend an under-represented minority? It's somewhat difficult to get into these great schools otherwise with that kind of score.
