Tonight, I clicked a link, and my computer went crazy. The same thing opened or maybe tried to open over and over. The Anti-Virus showed a pop with the word Trojan, and I killed the power, restarted, and scanned.

It detected 8 or 9 vulnerabilities, and then the threats...I'm not sure, it looks like there were FORTY Trojans. It says though, no active threats. Am I good?

I'm using Kaspersky.

FWIW, I've had problems with anti-virus in the past, if this averted this, please consider this my undying endorsment of Kaspersky

If you had the latest virus definitions when you did the scan you're probably okay.

Also, I wouldn't consider this a ringing endorsement for Kaspersky's products. It should have been able to repel the attack without letting anything through in the first place.

In the future try to keep your porn and piracy sites legit ;)

If you stumble upon it via Google, you're asking for it.

You could pay 1600 for a laptop in 2009 (when a comparable windows laptop is going for $600) to avoid viruses. Or you could get AVG or Avira for free. I consider Apple's markup as "computer illiteracy tax".

If all you did was click a hyperlink, then you are probably safe, unless your browser security settings are very low (which doesn't happen unless you or your vindictive roommate/ scorned wife does so).

But, if you chose to click on "Save As..." or any variant during the spamming of all the windows, you might not be in the clear just because no threats were detected. You can always download Spybot and Malwarebytes and re-scan.
