Counseling and Psychological Services http://[email protected]/ at the UC Santa Cruz Student Health Services invites applications for several Postdoctoral Clinical Trainee positions.
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at UC Santa Cruz provides a variety of services to diverse UCSC undergraduate and graduate students, including brief individual therapy, psychiatry services, crisis intervention, group psychotherapy, case management, outreach and educational programming, referrals, and consultation. Postdoctoral Clinical Trainee Positions
Postdoctoral Clinical Trainees will be expected to conduct brief individual therapy, crisis intervention, case management, group psychotherapy, consultation, and primary prevention and outreach for University students. UCSC welcomes applications from outstanding candidates interested in providing mental health services in a fast-paced university counseling center.
There are Two (2) positions open for the 2023-2024 academic year with multiple areas of focus available.

General Focus: Focus on general clinical service delivery
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Focus: Focus on clinical service delivery and outreach programming with a special emphasis on working with students with diverse and intersecting identities
Crisis Assessment Focus: Focus on clinical service delivery with an emphasis on triage and crisis assessment
Trauma Focus: Focus on general clinical service delivery with a special emphasis on working with students who have experienced interpersonal trauma
POSITIONS AVAILABLE: August 24, 2023
DURATION OF APPOINTMENT: Postdoctoral Clinical Trainee appointments are full-time for one year.
SALARY and BENEFITS: $57,000 annually; Medical benefits, paid sick leave and holidays in accordance with university policies, and two weeks approved leave.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctorate in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program
Completion of an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited Doctoral Internship
Experience and skills in brief therapy, crisis intervention, and group therapy
Experience and skills in mental health outreach and psychoeducation for a college student population
Skills and experience working with a diverse population
TRAUMA FOCUS (additional): Experience and interest in providing services to individuals who have experienced interpersonal trauma
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in a university counseling center; demonstrated strong interest and commitment to social justice
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Successful completion of a criminal history background check
