Hey Everyone...received this email recently, looks like an amazing opportunity!...would suggest anyone looking for a research job next year to check this out...

The Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore is offering a fully-funded research fellowship with benefits from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012. General surgery residents, plastic surgery residents, those with equivalent training, and/or qualified medical students are invited to apply for this position.

Currently, our division is conducting numerous clinical and animal research projects with extramural funding. Some of the areas we are investigating include clinical outcomes research particularly related to abdominal wall reconstruction, wound repair using biological mesh, histologic and molecular mechanisms of scar formation in primates and humans in a breast reconstruction model, the effect of vegetable extracts on breast cancer development in young healthy women, induced pluripotent stem-cell research, and the prevention of seromas after abdominoplasty.

We are seeking highly motivated, well-qualified applicants with research experience. Research fellows will have the opportunity to publish, present, and attend meetings, and collaborate closely with faculty.

Interested applicants should submit a cover letter and current CV to lab director Dr. Devinder P. Singh, Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at [email protected] or by fax 410-328-0638. Call (410) 328-2360 for questions.
