Transfers

Is anybody in a program where people have transferred after their first year at another pharmacy school? If so, how does this work and if you know these people under what conditions did they transfer? Did they not like their previous program, or felt that they weren't getting the education they wanted?

We have one transfer student in my class and one in the year above me. Their credits are evaluated on an individual basis. They have to take any classes not covered by their other schooling, regardless of the year they transfer in. One person wanted to move to Seattle to be near her family. I'm not sure about the other.

There is a guy in my class who transferred from UK down here (he got married and his wife is also in our class)

He had to retake everything except calculations.

My school also has a couple of transfers. It's dealt with on a case by case basis, although I believe both transfers were hardship (spouse had to move for work reasons or health).

We have at least one transfer at our school that I know of. They only had to take one extra class to get caught up.
