Navy Timeline after initial payback for general dentist wishing to extend?

Does anyone know what happens after you do the initial payback (1 year credentialing/aegd/gpr, 2 year operational/ships, 1/2 year shore duty) if you are a general dentist looking to extend your contract for another 4 years for the retention bonus(25k/year). Do you go back to operational/ship as soon as you finish your initial 4-5 year payback? Then what happens after that? If you’re looking just to stay in as a gp

Not too sure about the rest of your questions, but it makes a lot of financial sense to do a comp residency if you really do want to stay in as a GP.
