Is there a way to know when the next edition of a textbook will be coming out?

Which book?

Every book is different but certain books have a 5-10 year window usually. For example the WHO books are released usually between 6-8 years.

Right now the one I'm looking for is Odze GI pathology (last edition is 2014)

Anyone know how much these heavy hitters get paid for having their name on a book or book series? I heard in the six figures.

My guess is in the next couple of years but I don’t know. But if you need it then get it...find it used.

You could email Elsevier if you really want to know about the next edition

Is Dr. Odze still in practice?
In the new WHO GI Blue book, Odze is just named with City name and no workplace.

At pathology CME meetings, there’s usually book reps there and they’re more than happy to tell if if there’s a new edition coming out.

I'll try that. Thank you so much.
