Switching specialties

I am a junior resident interested in switching from neurosurgery to ortho. Any thoughts/advice from anyone who has either successfully done it themselves or knows anyone who has?

You would have to find an open PGY2 spot, correct? I can't imagine there are too many (if any) that become available.
