This may sound stupid but it's my question so here it goes:
Is there a surgical procedure in which the pennis must be erected? If so, what kind of drugs do you use to keep an erection under the effects of aenesthesia (assuming that it's IMPOSIBLE to keep an erection with stimulation when the patient is asleep)?

Thank you for your time and sharing your knowledge...

Yes.

Artificial erections are needed in chordee repair.

They are produced by injecting saline into the corpora cavernosa while occluding outflow at the base of the penis with a rubber band.

No vasoactive substances are used.

Why no vasoactive substances are being used? Is it because they don't work under the effects of aenesthesia?

You want to be able to control the erection, which is difficult with one due to vasoactive chemicals.

You produce the erection, see what you want to do, do it, then produce another to evaluate your result.

Chemically induced erections, such as those produced with self penile injections of prostaglandin or papaverine last upwards of an hour or two.

You don't want to operate on an erect penis.
