SUNY Downstate
Pros
Cons
USC Greenville
Pros
Cons
I currently live in NYC and would like to live in the northeast long term. I did go to California for college so am not opposed to moving and having new experiences. These schools are very different but I am soo grateful to have options. Any thoughts or insights on either of these schools would be greatly appreciated!!!
Pros
- I’m a NYC resident so instate tuition and close to friends/family (support system)
- Potentially more clinical exposure to a diverse patient population
- Match list is mostly in NY state and I would like to stay in this area
Cons
- Bigger school with less academic support
- Location in Brooklyn isn’t great
- Older facilities
USC Greenville
Pros
- Quality of life probably would be better in a suburban setting
- Lower cost of living
- Smaller class size, more academic support
- Lots of involvement with the local community
Cons
- Match is list is primarily in the south
- Large primary care focus
- Would be a lot further from friends and family
