Summer Semester?

Hi all,

I was just really curious about the summer months between the various years of the podiatric program. So do students have summer semesters for each of the 4 years or not?

And if you don't have a summer semester, what do podiatric students do during the summer awaiting the beginning of their next semester?

I am a NYCPM student in my second year, so third semester now (started on 6/4/18). So far its been 3 weeks and some change of a break in between semesters. So I use my break to relax.

You get 2 or 3 weeks off after spring quarter then start summer quarter which are only podiatry specific classes which is nice. Have class till the end of July then get 1 week off then back to the brutal schedule. Right now it's pretty relaxed compared to the other quarters. Get more clinical experience also. (AZpod)

Ya, we start working up real patients. We also have opportunities to work up patients at homeless clinics in the area throughout the year, even first years with some help obviously lol. First year it is completely voluntary if you want to do that or not.
