There seems to be similar threads of this nature in other disciplines so I figured I'd start one (unless one exists that I haven't found) for Public Health.
Success stories: accepted into graduate school despite what seemed like insurmountable odds (i.e. getting into "higher" ranked- or any for that matter - schools w/ sub-3.0 gpa, etc)
What you deem as extenuating/insurmountable circumstances is totally subjective. My purpose for starting this was to instill hope for the tons of "what are my chances" and anyone whose experienced hardships/struggles (I mean, lets be honest, nearly all of us have) during/before/after their undergrad career. Additionally, it should support the theory that public health admissions lean toward the "holistic approach".
And, if you'd like, what did you do to get there?
