step 2 basics

ok, so i'm just starting to research what books/q banks i need to get for step 2? i need to kick some step 2 butt. i'll be studying during my psych rotation. can a kind soul please fill me in on the basics of what i need and what the general consensus is?

I liked First Aid as text, with some supplemental info from Deja. I preferred QBank, though most people prefer USMLEWorld.
 
I also liked first aid a lot, and also step 2 secrets. I also used the 1000 question book from Kaplan.

I used USMLEWorld and felt liked it prepared me very well for the exam, and I did have some repeats. I'm sure qbank is similar. There are a lot of threads debating the merits of the two.

The NBME exams are pretty good for questions too- they are most like the real thing.
 
When did you all take Step 2? Do people take it right after third year or what?
