SKILLED NURSING PHARMACY with over 40 years of experience in the long term care industry is opening a new branch in Northern California and looking for full-time position for STAFF PHARMACIST to join our pharmacy team in HAYWARD, CA. New grads are welcome to apply. We are willing to train.
Office hours are M-F 8:30 am 8:30 pm, Sat & Sun 9am 6:00pm. Shifts are staggered with one to two weekends per month, depending on staffing.
Basic Function:
1) Reviewing and approving prescriptions to be accurately filled by pharmacy technicians.
2) Maintaining efficient workflow from the beginning to final check to provide timely delivery.
3) Participating in our IV program, monitoring TPN patients, compounding, and pharmacokinetics.
4) Maintaining inventory and record keeping for narcotics and similar drugs.
Major Responsibilities:
1) Reviewing and approving prescriptions to be filled by pharmacy technicians according to State Board of Pharmacy Regulations.
2) Conducting Drug Utilization Review (DUR) on all prescriptions.
3) Responding to drug-related questions and concerns initiated by internal (Technicians, Nursing Staff) and external (Directors of Nursing, Administrators) customers based on clinical expertise.
Position Requirements:
1) Possess valid California Pharmacist License.
2) Knowledge of federal and state regulations and knowledge of drug interactions.
3) Detail oriented, technical competence, analytical ability, planning/organizing,
oral communication and teamwork.
