The radiology market in Canada sucks. Residencies are mostly sub-par and fellows and attendings are fleeing to the US. There are more MRIs in Philly or New Haven than in the entire country of Canada. Not to mention the waiting lines for other specialties (i.e. 8 month waith for tonsillectomy in many Canadian cities) Socialized medicine would be a disaster in this country, it would not only kill salaries but initiative, research, development, and the top notch quality of care that we all have become so proud of here.
