Just a quick reply. I am a current UCSF IDP student. If you are looking for hotels to stay- Carl hotel is a very good option. It is reasonable and at a close distance to the school. I also stayed there last year, in fact most people did. Also I have a suggestion for you. You must have heard about the labs open at UCSF for practice. I would strongly recommend you to attend those. It was a big help for me. Rest as it is comfortable to you
