“Rotation Vacation” vs Real Vacation?

Curious about people’s thoughts on this...

My SO and I just got our 3rd year schedules back and both managed to get the same 2 week chunk of free time after our last block. We have the option of using that 2 weeks to either:

1) Take a real vacation (Europe or Asia)
Pros: 2 week break before starting our SubI’s, have a memorable experience after being lame for a really long time.
Cons: expensive AF

2) Both take a cushy 2 week “away” rotation at our schools satellite hospital on the west coast of Florida, where my parents have a vacation house.
Pros: virtually free and get an extra 2 weeks vacation in 4th year
Cons: not a true break, so won’t start SubI feeling quite as well rested

I vote for a real vacation where you can sleep in and have no responsibilities. Trust me this is what you want after third year.

Why not just vacation at the Florida house? Sounds like it would be much cheaper. You could always do an international trip during 4th year. Just a thought!
