Hi, everybody.
I am an orthodontist trained an practicing outside US dreaming to practice dentistry in US (orthodontics in particular)
I would like to know if a foreigned trained dental specialist is eligible to apply for a dental residency program in US and at the final completion of the program to be able to legally practice dentistry there without earning a DDS/DMD degree in US by following a 2/3 years advanced standing or International Dentist Program.
Thanks.

Hi,

there are three paths to take - from the hardest:
post grad program - many need an AMer Dental Assoc CODA approved school graduation, some don't; some need the rigth VISA to get paid from the government GME funds - hard to get in, but may get paid

programs for foreign grads - 2-3 years, expensive hard to get in, application fees but only 2-3 years.

start from being - 4 years, easier to get into, often the fee is the same as the 3 year programs.

just some of my opinions
