If you wanted to come back to the states, you would have to complete a residency here. Even if you had completed one abroad.

You'd have to redo residency here if you trained there and came back. And you'd possibly have to retake your step exams if enough time has passed that they've expired. You'd have more options if you did residency here and then went international to practice (although I don't know what the laws are like in Vietnam if you train here).
 
Generally you have to complete a residency in the country you want to practice in. There are exceptions, especially when it comes to developing countries (and in countries that have significant ties).

Personally, assuming that you are already in a US med school, I'd plan to do a US residency (or at least an intern year) before heading out as being US trained has significant advantages especially to expat populations.
